Tonsillitis
Tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils, usually caused by viral or bacterial infection. It is characterized by sore throat, difficulty swallowing, and swollen tonsils. Recurrent or chronic tonsillitis may require surgical removal of the tonsils (tonsillectomy).
