Endoscopic DCR
Endoscopic Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure to treat blocked tear ducts (nasolacrimal duct obstruction). It creates a new drainage pathway for tears from the lacrimal sac directly into the nasal cavity, relieving watering eyes and recurrent eye infections.
Our ENT surgeon performs endoscopic DCR through the nose without any external incisions, resulting in no visible scarring.
What is Endoscopic DCR?
DCR involves creating a new opening between the lacrimal sac and the nasal cavity using an endoscope passed through the nostril. This bypasses the blocked nasolacrimal duct and allows tears to drain normally. A silicone stent may be placed temporarily to keep the new passage open during healing.
