Mastoidectomy

Mastoidectomy

Mastoidectomy is a surgical procedure to remove infected mastoid air cells located in the skull behind the ear. It is performed to treat mastoiditis, cholesteatoma, and chronic ear infections that have spread to the mastoid bone.

Our ENT surgeon performs mastoidectomy using advanced microsurgical techniques to ensure thorough disease clearance and preservation of hearing.

What is Mastoidectomy?

The mastoid bone contains air-filled spaces (mastoid air cells) connected to the middle ear. When infection or cholesteatoma spreads into these cells, mastoidectomy is required to remove the diseased tissue and prevent serious complications such as meningitis or facial nerve damage.
